Deadline: December 11, 2025;
STORYHIVE provides grants of $10,000 each to produce locally reflective nonfiction podcasts accompanied by a video component. We’re seeking stories that capture the voice, personality and experiences of communities across Western Canada. Projects may be featured on TELUS platforms, including TELUS Optik TV On Demand and STORYHIVE’s YouTube channel.
Project Requirements:
Each Project will consist of a minimum of 8 episodes. Each episode must be a minimum of 30 minutes, consisting of locally reflective video podcast content. All projects must have synchronized audio and video elements. We recommend at least a 2 camera setup.
Examples of eligible video podcast formats include:
- An interview-based series
- A solo series
Time commitment
The STORYHIVE Video Podcast program begins in May 2026 and ends in January 2027. Project Leads must be prepared to allocate an appropriate amount of time to the planning, production and delivery to meet all deadlines.

- $10,000 in funding
- Training and a community of support
- Distribution on TELUS Optik TV, Stream+ and STORYHIVE’s YouTube channel
Eligibility:
To be eligible for our programs, you must meet the following criteria:
- Live in one of our eligible communities in British Columbia or Alberta
- Are a first time or emerging content creator and have not had access to the Canadian Broadcasting system in the last 5 years
- Not be participating in another STORYHIVE program that overlaps with this program
- Not be an individual associated with TELUS
- Be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada
