Workshop: Navigating the BC Gaming Program Grant

Date: February 5th, 1-4 pm; Online Via Zoom

Cost: $55 for attendees; FREE for SmartGrant Subscribers with discount code;

Join facilitator MaryAnn Anderson for a ‘how-to’ workshop to master the Community Grant Program application process.

The BC Gaming Program Grant program can often be difficult to understand and navigate – both for long-time applicants, as well as newcomers to the process. Gaming’s guidelines and priorities are unlike other funders and can often be challenging to decipher (especially as they apply to the unique work of our sector, as arts & cultural organizations).

For all those who need a “101” on successfully applying for a BC Gaming Program Grant, or those who may have encountered challenges with their past/recent applications…this is the workshop for you. Workshop facilitator MaryAnn Anderson will translate what Gaming really means in their guidelines, identify ‘red flag’ language to avoid, and outline how to ensure your application speaks directly to Gaming’s funding criteria.

This workshop will provide a clear roadmap to creating a successful application – for both first timers and long-time grant recipients, and will cover:

  • Understanding Gaming’s applicant & “program” eligibility guidelines.
  • Understanding Gaming’s financial eligibility guidelines & budgetary requirements.
  • Creating effective Program descriptions and budgets.
  • The value of support materials – in-kind calculations, letters of support, etc.
  • Successfully navigating the new online application portal.

The workshop will conclude with plenty of time for Q&A to answer all your questions and address any specific challenges attendees may wish to discuss.
