Women in Music Canada is launching the seventh annual Entrepreneur Accelerator program, focused on supporting the next wave of women and gender- diverse Canadian music industry leaders. This year’s intake will accept a 30-participant cohort to learn together and build an entrepreneurial community. The program is open to early career, or transitioning career industry entrepreneurs and artist entrepreneurs. Each participant will be paired with two professional mentors throughout the program, matched based on the participant’s individual goals and intentions for the program.
Sessions included in the overall program include the following, all from a female and gender-diverse entrepreneur lens:
- Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship
- Lean Business Canvas / Goal Setting
- Revenue Streams in Music
- Marketing and Sales Fundamentals  (Industry Stream)
- Marketing; understanding your work (Artist Stream)
- Financial Literacy and Taxes
- Fundraising and Grant Writing
- Business Influence (Industry Stream)
- Data Analytics for Artists
- Negotiating your value: Rate Setting for Entrepreneurs
- Publishing
As well as a choice of 1 of the 5 Creative Labs, interactive project cohorts.
Successful Applicants will be reached by August 20th, 2026.
The 2026 Entrepreneur Accelerator sessions will run online from October 05th through November 19th. Sessions will run from 7:00 PM through 9:00 PM ET (4:00 PM – 6:00 PM PT) Monday and Thursday, weekly. Mentorship sessions will run as per specific arranged times by participants and can be completed by December 4th.Â
