Canadian Multiculturalism Day honours the many cultural communities that help build a strong and vibrant Canadian society. Its an opportunity to celebrate the cultural diversity that enriches us collectively and reaffirm your commitment to equity, inclusion and mutual respect.

Canada Day is a day for Canadians from all communities to come together and celebrate our identity and what makes us unique as a nation – an opportunity for us to share our pride across the country.

Canadian Heritage – Celebrate Canada Program: Funds community-based activities celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day, Canadian Multiculturalism Day & Canada Day – enabling Canadians to appreciate Canada’s cultural, ethnic, linguistic and geographic diversity.

Who Can Apply: a Canadian not-for-profit organization, corporation, trust, cooperative; unincorporated assoc.; Indigenous organizations; for-profit org; public education establishment; provincial/territorial, municipal government & institutions.


Province of BCMulticulturalism & Anti-Racism Grants: Support projects that build intercultural interaction, trust and understanding, or projects that challenge racism, hate and systemic barriers.

Who Can Apply: registered non-profits, BC-based, federally registered charity, Indigenous governments, tribal councils, band councils or organizations; BIPOC-led non-profit society, non-profit society serving BIPOC disability community.


Canadian Heritage – Commemorate Canada Program: Funds initiatives that commemorate historical figures, places, events and accomplishments of national significance.

Who Can Apply: a Canadian not-for-profit organization, corporation, trust, cooperative; unincorporated assoc.; Indigenous organizations; for-profit org; public education establishment; provincial/territorial, municipal government & institutions.


Canadian Race Relations Foundation – Events and Youth Initiative Grants: Supports Events or Youth Initiatives aligned with key themes & objectives: reducing barriers to inclusion; promoting and increasing availability/accessibility of data, evidence & community insights on race relations; informing public policies by highlighting systemic barriers; cultural & intercultural community-building.

Who Can Apply: registered charities & non-profit orgs & associations; Indigenous orgs; non-Federal public institutions; grassroots groups & collectives, student groups.


Foundation for Black Communities: Black Ideas Grant – Catapult Grant: To support the design and/or delivery of projects, programs, and/or services that directly benefit Black communities in Canada.

Who Can Apply: Organizations that are not Black-mandated, Black-led, and Black-serving; For-profit organizations or corporations; Individuals; Business institutions, including business associations, chambers of commerce and condominium associations; Provincial/territorial entities; Municipalities and entities controlled by a municipality


BC Arts Council – Accelerate Program: a two-year initiative to improve access and reduce barriers to funding for equity deserving and regional arts and culture organizations and collectives. Funding is intended to offer stability while being flexible in supporting a range of expenses.

Who Can Apply: organizations and collectives who identify as representing an equity-deserving group(s).


Vancouver Foundation – LEVEL BIPOC Grants Program:  invests in the leadership capacity of BIPOC-led and BIPOC youth-led and/or youth-engaging organizations operating in B.C. These grants aim to close the funding gap by increasing access to funding for organizations serving marginalized communities. 

Who Can Apply: organization is either a registered charity  OR registered non-profit society and is BIPOC-led.
