Online Seminar: Sept. 23, 2026; 1-4 pm (EST); Cost: $149.99
Overview:
Traditional funding sources are becoming increasingly competitive, while operating costs and community needs continue to grow. For many nonprofits and charities, grants, donations, and contracts remain essential, but they are often no longer enough on their own to support long-term sustainability and growth.
This interactive seminar introduces a practical approach to revenue diversification that helps organizations strengthen financial resilience without losing sight of their mission. Participants will explore how organizational culture, beliefs about money, and attitudes toward risk can influence decision-making, and learn how a combination of traditional and entrepreneurial revenue strategies can create greater stability, flexibility, and impact.
Drawing on real examples from organizations that have successfully diversified their revenue, this session will introduce a range of opportunities, including fee-for-service, social enterprise, assets, partnerships, and other revenue-generating approaches. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of which strategies may be the best fit for their organization and practical next steps for building a more sustainable financial future.
Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Understand why revenue diversification is becoming an increasingly important strategy for nonprofits and charities in today’s funding environment.
- Identify how organizational culture, beliefs about money, and attitudes toward risk can either support or limit new revenue opportunities.
- Recognize the role that both traditional funding strategies and earned revenue strategies play in creating long-term financial resilience.
- Explore practical revenue diversification opportunities, including fee-for-service, social enterprise, assets, partnerships, and other entrepreneurial approaches.
- Use criteria to evaluate which earned revenue strategies make sense in the short, medium and long-term.
